Editorial Strategy
Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy (AJIP) publish papers that meet following criteria:
  • original research contributions
  • neither too narrow nor too technical
  • neither too short nor too long
Formal Conditions of Acceptance
  1. Submission of Papers
    1. Papers will only be published in English. Manuscripts should be submitted to the Homepage via internet.
    2. Submission of a paper to AJIP implies that the manuscript has not been copyrighted nor accepted for publication (or published) by any other journal, nor is it being refereed elsewhere.
    3. One corresponding author; if you have more than one author the designation should be submitted with manuscript. All communication will be through the corresponding author.
    4. It is our policy to hold the review process within 2 months. Please contact us if you do not receive an acknowledgment of receipt within 2 business days of submission, or if you receive no further feedback 8 weeks after submission.
    5. Manuscripts which require changes should be resubmitted in two months to the Editor-in-Chief.
    6. No fees for review and publication.
    7. Submission needs cover letter having 3 information such as the title and author information, 150 words abstract with keywords, and the lists of 4 experts related to your paper. The experts are not in your institutions, not in the editorial board of our journal, and at least two of whom must be from different countries.
      • Cover page: title, names, affiliations, and email addresses
      • 150 words abstract with keywords
      • 1 page highlight in case of articles
      • 4 experts in the subject: names, affiliations, and email addresses

  2. Style of Submitted Papers
    1. Style of submitted manuscripts should be double-spaced, 11-point font written in one single column format.
    2. Papers should be 15-30 pages including everything except the abstract and title page.
    3. Prepare your manuscript using a word processing program and save it as a .doc and .pdf. Any of these file types will be converted to .pdf format.
    4. Refer to all illustrations (tables and figures) in the text.
    5. If you have footnotes, they should be numbered and typed at the bottom of the page on which they occur. Acknowledgment of financial support should be given as a footnote.
    6. Books and articles should be referred to in the text by the author's name(s) and date of publication, e.g. Pavitt, K. (1984). Full references should be included at the end of the paper in alphabetical order using the following convention:

  3. Review Process
    A triple-blind review process is used to assure the anonymity of authors and reviewers in which reviewers are not informed of who is authoring the paper, as well as the authors not knowing who the reviewer is.
    Submitted papers are first considered by the AJIP Editor to whom papers are submitted. Papers that do not fall within the scope of AJIP are desk-rejected. In addition, papers that fail to meet a minimum threshold for quality and originality will be rejected without being sent out to reviewers.
    Papers passing through this initial editorial scrutiny are then typically sent out to three referees. If at least one turns down the invitation to provide a review, other referees will subsequently be appointed.
    Normally, three reviews are needed before the handling. Editor can make a decision as to whether to accept, reject, or ask for a 'revise and resubmit' of the submitted paper.


  4. Page Proofs
    Page proofs are sent to the principal author of the paper prior to its publication. Minor and typographical errors should be corrected according to the instructions enclosed with the proofs. In general, major changes in the original manuscript are not permitted at this stage. To avoid the need for such changes, the authors are strongly recommended to proofread their manuscripts carefully before the final submission.

  5. Copyright
    It is the policy of the journal to own the copyright of published papers. To comply with Copyright law, authors are required to sign the copyright transfer form before publication. This form is returned to authors giving full rights to reuse their material for their own purposes.

Publication Ethics
    The Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy is committed to upholding the integrity of the academic record. Authors and reviewers are encouraged to refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics’ International Standards for Authors.

    Editors

    The Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy editors’ decision to accept or reject a manuscript for publication is based on the submitted paper’s importance, originality and clarity, and the study’s validity and its relevance to the remit of the journal.

    Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

    Editors strive to ensure that peer review at the journal is fair, unbiased and timely. They remind authors they are obliged to participate in the peer review process. Editors will send reviewers’ comments to authors in their entirety unless they contain offensive or libelous remarks.

    Reviewers

    The Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy operates a strictly blinded peer review process in which the reviewer’s name is withheld from the author and, the author’s name from the reviewer. The reviewers may, at their own discretion, opt to reveal their name to the author in their review, but the journal’s standard policy practice is for both identities to remain concealed. Each article is reviewed generally by three referees.

    Reviewers must be suitably qualified regarding the nature and subject of the manuscript their review. Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript should notify the editor and excuse him/herself from the review process.

    Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

    Authors

    Authorship/Acknowledgements

    Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study; they should be listed as co-authors. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in a ‘Acknowledgements’ section. Examples of those who might be acknowledged include a person who provided purely technical help, writing assistance, or a department chair who provided only general support.

    Conflict of interest/Funding disclosure

    The Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy requires authors to include a declaration of any conflicting interests in order to preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards. Additionally, the publication editors require authors to acknowledge their funding with the funding agency written out in full, followed by the grant number (if applicable).

    Also, authors should disclose whether they had any writing assistance and identify the entity that paid for this assistance.

    Data/Permission

    Authors should present their results honestly and without fabricating, falsifying or inappropriately manipulating data (research images should not be modified in a misleading way). Material taken from other sources must be cited. Authors must ensure they have obtained permission from third parties for use of their data. If required, authors are to supply raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review.

    Plagiarism

    The Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy and its publisher, the Asian Society for Innovation and Policy, take issues of copyright infringement, plagiarism or other breaches of best practice seriously. It seeks to protect the rights of its authors and it will always investigate claims of plagiarism or misuse of articles published in the journal. Equally, the Asian Society for Innovation and Policy seeks to protect the reputation of the journal against malpractice.

    Where an article is found to have plagiarized other work or included third-party copyright material without permission or with insufficient acknowledgement, or where authorship of the article is contested, the Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy reserves the right to take action, ranging from publishing an erratum or corrigendum to banning the author(s) from publication in the journal.

    Misconduct

    Editors will act on suspicion or allegation of misconduct that extends to both published and unpublished papers. All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that a proper investigation into alleged misconduct is conducted, seeking first a response from those suspected of misconduct. If this does not happen, the editor will make all reasonable attempts to persist in obtaining a resolution to the problem.

    Multiple/Concurrent publication

    The Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy will ensure that an author should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and will not be accepted.

    Publication errors

    When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with the author to retract or correct the paper.

    Publishing agreement

    Before publication, the Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy requires the author as the rights holder to sign a Contributor’s Publishing Agreement. It is an exclusive license agreement, which entitles the author to retain copyright in the work, but grants the Asian Society for Innovation and Policy the sole and exclusive right and license to publish for the full legal term of copyright.

    Archiving

    The editorial content of all published issues of the Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy is available on the journal website, free of charge.
